Julia Scott Carey will perform the East Coast Premiere of Echoes on the Horizon May 17 & 18 at the New England Botanic Garden. Commissioned in honor of author Naseem Rakha, this three-movement work draws inspiration from natural places dear to her heart: the Columbia River Gorge and, Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, and the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

The piece will be performed on Juventas New Music Ensemble’s Echoes of the Wild concerts, set in the New England Botanic Garden’s iconic Limonaia conservatory at golden hour. The program also includes music by Carson Cooman, Stacy Garrop, Kian Ravei, Daroo Lee, Nathan Scalise and Gwyneth Walker.
