The program, entitled \u201cLungs of the City\u201d commemorates the bicentennial of Frederick Law Olmsted, widely considered the father of American Landscape Architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Emerald Necklace was co-commissioned by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/landscapemusic.org\/olmsted\/\" target=\"_blank\">Landscape Music<\/a>, the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.musicintheamericanwild.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">American Wild Ensemble<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mtu.edu\/vpa\/\" target=\"_blank\">Michigan Tech Department of Visual and Performing Arts<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.juventasmusic.org\/\">Juventas<\/a> for <strong>Lungs of the City: Olmsted\u2019s Parks in Music<\/strong>, a nationwide celebration of Olmsted\u2019s bicentennial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program features 7 world premieres, each inspired by an Olmsted design.
