Commissioned by Kalliope, this effervescent work pays homage to New Year\u2019s Even in Paris. Oliver writes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>For centuries, Paris has been a beacon for artists and intellectuals from around the world, who travel to the city\u2019s hallowed grounds to partake in its culture and learn from leading voices of their days. I feel incredibly grateful to have studied in Paris myself during the summers of 2007 and 2008, a formative period in my musical development as a young composer. But this piece recalls two leisure trips, in 1999 and 2017, to ring in the new year. The city was blanketed with an air of conviviality.
