Juventas New Music Ensemble will premiere Oliver’s newest work The Emerald Necklace<\/em> on its March 26 program “Lungs of the City.” The concert celebrates Frederick Law Olmsted, widely considered the father of American Landscape Architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Emerald Necklace was co-commissioned by Landscape Music<\/a>, the American Wild Ensemble<\/a>, Michigan Tech Department of Visual and Performing Arts<\/a> and Juventas<\/a> for Lungs of the City: Olmsted\u2019s Parks in Music<\/strong>, a nationwide celebration of Olmsted’s bicentennial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program features 8 world premieres, each inspired by an Olmsted design. Oliver’s work the Emerald Necklace will be performed alongside new pieces by Nell Shaw Cohen<\/a>, Michael-Thomas Foumai<\/a>, Libby Meyer<\/a>, Ayumi Okada<\/a>, Justin Ralls<\/a>, Christina Rusnak<\/a> and Ryan Suleiman<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
