On Saturday, Juventas New Music Ensemble will perform Oliver’s trio “Connect All. We All Connect.”\u00a0The piece\u00a0sets poignant lyrics by Master Palindromist Barry Duncan, probing the strength and fragility of human connection.<\/p>\n

Anne Howarth commissioned Connect All<\/em>\u00a0for soprano, horn and piano. In this performance, the horn line has been transcribed for Wolcott Humphrey on clarinet. \u00a0Soprano Kelley Hollis and pianist Julia Carey will round out the ensemble.<\/p>\n

The concert, entitled “Emergence,” celebrates Juventas’s 15th anniversary. The program pairs\u00a0the music of three emerging composers with works by the luminaries who inspired them. Oliver’s piece\u00a0will be performed alongside music by his former teacher Dalit Warshaw<\/a>. \u00a0The other composer-teacher pairs are Jonathan Bailey Holland and Aaron Wyanski, and Michael Gandolfi and Kathryn Salfelder.<\/p>\n
