Memorial Day Weekend, the American Wild Ensemble will take Oliver’s newest work The Emerald Necklace on the road to New York City! The Emerald Necklace was co-commissioned by the American Wild Ensemble with Landscape Music, Michigan Tech Department of Visual and Performing Arts and Juventas for Lungs of the City: Olmsted’s Parks in Music, a nationwide celebration of Olmsted’s bicentennial.
The program features 8 world premieres, each inspired by an Olmsted design. Oliver’s work the Emerald Necklace will be performed alongside new pieces by Nell Shaw Cohen, Michael-Thomas Foumai, Libby Meyer, Ayumi Okada, Justin Ralls, Christina Rusnak and Ryan Suleiman.
