The Kalliope Reed Quintet will perform Oliver’s Bonne Année in two performances, May 20 & 21. Commissioned by Kalliope, this effervescent work pays homage to New Year’s Even in Paris. Oliver writes:
For centuries, Paris has been a beacon for artists and intellectuals from around the world, who travel to the city’s hallowed grounds to partake in its culture and learn from leading voices of their days. I feel incredibly grateful to have studied in Paris myself during the summers of 2007 and 2008, a formative period in my musical development as a young composer.
