Juventas New Music Ensemble will premiere Oliver’s newest work The Emerald Necklace on its March 26 program “Lungs of the City.” The concert celebrates Frederick Law Olmsted, widely considered the father of American Landscape Architecture.

The Emerald Necklace was co-commissioned by Landscape Music, the American Wild Ensemble, Michigan Tech Department of Visual and Performing Arts and Juventas for Lungs of the City: Olmsted’s Parks in Music, a nationwide celebration of Olmsted’s bicentennial.

The program features 8 world premieres, each inspired by an Olmsted design. Oliver’s work the Emerald Necklace will be performed alongside new pieces by Nell Shaw Cohen, Michael-Thomas Foumai, Libby Meyer, Ayumi Okada, Justin Ralls, Christina Rusnak and Ryan Suleiman.
