Just announced: Oliver is Semi-Finalist for the American Prize in  Chamber Music Composition. The recognition is for Love Letters, a piece on You Are Not Alone, his new album with Juventas.

Love Letters was written in 2015 for the composer’s marriage to Landscape Architect Chris Beagan. “This piece is an affirmation of love and equality,” Oliver shares. “Chris and I grew up in a time when two men could not marry. When we tied the knot, our marriage was only recognized in some parts of our country.” Three weeks after their wedding, the Supreme Court issued the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges ruling, which recognized the fundamental right of same-sex couples to marry.
