On April 17, the Atlanta Chamber Players will present the Southeast premiere of Krummholz Variations, Oliver’s alpine-inspired octet for flute, clarinet, 2 bassoons, 2 trumpets and 2 trombones. ACP commissioned the piece with a nationwide consortium of 12 ensemble, as a companion piece for the instrumentation of Stravinsky’s beloved Octet.
The concert program also includes the Stravinsky octet, and Rachmaninoff’s Sonata for Cello and Piano in G minor performed by ACP’s powerhouse Artistic Director Elizabeth Pridgen and cellist Julie Albers.
