10/21: Cham. Orchestra of Boston performs “Lunastella”

September 27, 2017

The Chamber Orchestra of Boston will perform Oliver’s string sinfonietta Lunastella Fuga on October 21.  Lunastella Fuga was composed during the dog days of summer, nights spent gaping at the stars and wandering the New Hampshire woodland aglow in the otherworldly light of a blue moon.  It was commissioned and premiered by the Sinfonietta of Riverdale in 2012, and recorded on their 2016 album New World Serenade (Albany Records).

The October 21 Chamber Orchestra of Boston program, entitled “A Little Night Music,” also includes Mozart’s iconic Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and night-inspired works by Dvorak, Borodin, Balmages and Smith.
