Oliver was a named a a semi-finalist for the 2016 American Prize in two categories, Choral Music Composition and Chamber Music Composition.  The award recognize American excellence in the arts

Oliver’s nomination in the Choral Music category is for Roots & Wings (lyrics by Meghan Guidry).  In the Chamber Music category, Oliver’s nomination is for his works  Illuminated by the Light of Two Ships Passing in the Night, Fanfare for the Importance of Imagination, and My Elephant Cloud.
