The Oratorio Society of New York named Oliver one of two winners in it’s 150th Anniversary Call for Scores. Founded in 1873, this storied institution was instrumental in the creation of Carnegie Hall, named after the Society’s Fifth President, Andrew Carnegie.
The Oratorio Society’s 200-member chorus will perform Oliver’s Cloud Anthem in it’s 150th anniversary celebration, March 5 at St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City. Cloud Anthem is a setting of the poem by Richard Blanco, President Obama’s second inaugural poet. This powerful work calls calls for our society to come together as one to build a better tomorrow.
