September 26: Juventas performs “Love Letters”

September 8, 2020

Juventas New Music Ensemble will perform audience favorite Love Letters on its season opening concert “American Mirror.” Oliver wrote Love Letters (flute, clarinet, string quartet) in 2015 as a wedding gift for his husband Landscape Architect Chris Beagan. Critically acclaimed, the piece was a Finalist for both the American Prize in Chamber Music Composition and the Cum Laude Music Award.

Oliver is dedicating the 9/26 performance to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, writing:

Her role in the Supreme Court’s 5-4 affirmation of marriage equality changed our lives—and the lives of countless couples nationwide —forever.
