Yesterday, Oliver was named an American Prize Finalist for his choral work We Exist, with lyrics by Naseem Rakha. We Exist responds to the 2017 violence in Charlottesville, Virginia with a call for love of people of all races, faiths and genders.

Oliver is also a 2019-20 Honored Artist of the American Prize. The honorees, which were announced January 1, are individuals who have proven themselves to be artists of “sustained excellence” over a number of seasons as laureates in the competition.
