The Boston Opera Collaborative and Boston New Music Initiative have selected Oliver’s short opera Symposium for performance. It will be staged November 10-12 in their Opera Bites program, an evening of short operas.
Symposium (libretto by Anne Ray) hovers over the vacant and impersonal landscape of cubicles and hotel conference rooms, following the inner mind of its protagonist as she steps into that familiar and fractured sense of feeling alone, even while surrounded by others.
