Oliver has completed his newest work, Krummholz Variations, an alpine-inspired octet for flute, clarinet, two bassoons, two trumpets and two trombones. A consortium of 13 ensembles commissioned the work as a companion piece for the instrumentation of Stravinsky’s beloved Octet.
The Sun Valley Chamber Winds will premiere Krummholz Variations on April 17 in Scottsdale, Arizona, and consortium members will present additional premiere performances across the country in the coming year.
